Wendy Mabry
Wendy Mabry is a 2005 graduate of Pfeiffer University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school in Cabarrus County before deciding on a career in NC Pre-k six years ago. She sets a positive example for her colleagues and her students each day by being a lifelong learner. She is a strong advocate for her students and their families and strives to make sure that every student she meets, has the tools needed to continue to be successful on their education journey. Her deep love for her students and for the opportunity to serve in Early Childhood education is evident in all that she does.
Wendy has the wonderful, unique opportunity to teach each day with her 35-year-old daughter, Megan, by her side as her volunteer helper. Megan is in a wheelchair due to a TBI when she was 3. Together, this team empowers children to never give up and to realize their full potential as they learn and grow. Wendy and Megan were previously honored to be chosen as a recipient for the B.H. Rowland Foundation award.
In addition to having her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Wendy also holds a license in Birth to Kindergarten Education from Western Carolina University. She embodies what it means to have a love for your profession and a desire to help others.
Outside of the classroom, Wendy loves spending time with her six children and her eleven grandchildren. In addition to her two-legged family members she loves her four-legged family members equally, Rocky, a Great Dane and Bohdi, a Bernese Mountain Dog. Wendy also enjoys being outside, photography, and relaxing on the couch watching football.
