Awards, Grants, and Scholarships
The B.H. Rowland Foundation raises money to provide a variety of grants, awards, and scholarships to deserving early childhood educators in North Carolina. These awards will be given to those educators who are currently working in the field of early childhood to help offset the imbalance of resources and demands in the field.
A long-term goal of the BHRF is to cultivate, support, and recognize outstanding early childhood educators throughout North Carolina by
1. Cultivating individuals who are just getting started and want to explore early childhood as a
profession, as well as early childhood programs interested in increasing quality (e.g., entering
the star system);
2. Supporting early childhood educators and/or early childhood programs currently
demonstrating outstanding practice and interested in continued development (e.g., attaining
new endorsement or certification); and
3. Recognizing early childhood educators and/or early childhood programs demonstrating
outstanding practice and commitment to the field, and seeking support to sustain that
outstanding practice.
