Applications for 2026 Conference Scholarships
The Bobbie H. Rowland Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of Conference
Scholarships for Early Childhood professionals who work directly with children, ages Birth - 8
years, and/or families. These scholarships honor Dr. Bobbie H. Rowland, a pioneer in
establishing Early Childhood programs in North Carolina.
Our goal is to support early childhood professionals currently demonstrating outstanding practice
and who are interested in continued development to meet professional goals. Please only apply for
the fall Conference if you are able to participate in both the two in-person days and the virtual day. A 1-year
professional membership will be included. Approval from your Director/Supervisor is required:
Hand-in-Hand: Promoting Relational Health -- Learn about Infant and Early Childhood
Mental Health (IECMH), two-generational approaches, and maternal mental health. Check out

October 8-9, 2026 – two full in-person days at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC.
and
October 15, 2026 – one full day of four (4) virtual sessions.
When selected for a scholarship:
1. Your Conference registration and 1-year membership will be paid directly to the
Conference Organization by the BHR Foundation.
2. You will be asked to submit a brief description of your Conference ‘takeaways’. For each
‘takeaway’, share your plans for using the information you learned/gained that will
enhance the work you are doing with young children and families.
3. Additionally, a Director/Supervisor verification statement must be included.
4. After we receive your follow-up documentation (in Steps 2 and 3), you will receive a
stipend in the amount of $175 as a reimbursement for costs you incurred for attending the
Conference (e.g. hotel, meals, or gas).
