Cortney Davenport
Cortney Davenport is an accomplished Early Childhood educator from Stanly County. Throughout eighteen years in the field, she has demonstrated a commitment in serving at risk children in both More at Four and N.C. Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. She continues to contribute on the frontline by educating young children in an inclusive learning environment and advocating for best practice among early childhood professionals.
In addition to teaching, Cortney has partnered with the Early Educator Support Office, mentoring new teachers within her county. She continues to support teachers by providing mentorship as an onsite clinical educator dedicated to empowering new teachers to reach their full potential.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development: Birth-Kindergarten Education from Western Carolina University, she holds an SPII license issued through the Department of Public Instruction. She is currently dually licensed in Birth-Kindergarten Education and Elementary Education.
Outside of the classroom, Cortney enjoys spending time with her husband, Steven and their children Kandyn and Kallen. Aside from spending time with her family, Cortney enjoys shopping, pedicures and taking long naps. Her best buds are her Goldendoodle, Ozzy Bear and Aussiedoodle, Banks. She is known as a “go getter” and enjoys serving
both her family and friends.
