Cindy Bagwell
Cindy retired after working for more than thirty years in public education. She began her career as a teacher for children with special needs, then moved to an administrative role in a local school district, where she was responsible for the physical therapy and occupational therapy programs. She also oversaw the development of an adapted physical education program serving children with disabilities. She became the Early Childhood Coordinator for the district and was responsible for the district’s preschool and kindergarten programs. In that role, she directed the creation of an inclusive preschool program, managed operations at two inclusive early childhood centers, and worked with preschool and kindergarten teachers to create the district’s Pre-K to K transition process. She then moved to an administrative role at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, where she worked with a variety of programs, including Exceptional Children's Preschool Programs, Title I Pre-K Programs, and More at Four. She now works as an independent consultant.
