Vicki Caldwell

Throughout Vicki’s 48 years as an educator, she has been inspired by Maya Angelou’s quote, “People will forget what you said…and what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Vicki strived to make sure that her students felt loved, nurtured, and motivated to be what they aspired to become.

After 30 years in the classroom, Vicki decided to continue her education to obtain a Master’s degree in Executive Leadership from Gardner Webb University.  She left the classroom at that point to take a position with her local school district as a Prek Specialist to coach and mentor teachers in early childhood education. She
also served as a mentor to teachers who were enrolled with what is now the Early Educator Support Office where she was fortunate to work closely with Dr. Bobbie Rowland. Even since her retirement in 2021, Vicki continues to serve teachers in Gaston County for NCPK and is delighted to find examples of “best practice” and teachers who exude a love for their students and for what they are doing every day in their classrooms.

Faith and family are everything to Vicki. She has a husband of 48 years, two children, and a grandson, Sterling, who is her pride and joy. She also has a huge extended family that are very close and have been her rock in times of need.
