Suzanne Lamorey

Suzanne has enjoyed working in higher education focusing on early intervention and
early childhood special education for the past 35 years. Much of her research efforts have explored relationship-based home visiting practices as well as the development of assessment scales measuring parent and practitioner self-efficacy. For the past 5 years, she has been collaborating with an NGO in Jaipur, India, to implement and evaluate rural educational programs for migrant children. In the area of personnel preparation, Suzanne has had grants to co-develop an early literacy program for family-based childcare providers at UNCC, an interdisciplinary early intervention doctoral program while at Arizona State University, and a rural outreach graduate program for early interventionists while at the University of Missouri.
Most recently at UNCC she has found a new passion working with teacher-researchers in the CHFD MAT program as they use action research to examine and address classroom challenges. Suzanne's (semi) retirement hobby has been her involvement in community vegetable gardening.
