Sue Davis
Sue earned her B.A. in elementary and special education from Youngstown State. She continued her education at UNC Charlotte by obtaining her master’s degree in special education and her doctorate in special education with a focus on early childhood. Sue taught elementary and special education in public schools before joining the Office of Field Experiences with an appointment in the Special Education and Early Childhood Program at UNC Charlotte. Soon after being hired, Bobbie decided that Sue would be one of the first B-K University Supervisors and help design the B-K student teaching experience. Having supervised hundreds of student teachers during her career, Sue was always energized by her classroom visits where she observed the positive impact on children and families made by student teachers and their cooperating teachers.
Retired from higher education, Sue continues to get her early childhood fix by serving on the Cabarrus NC Pre-K Committee and rocking babies in the NICU. She enjoys time with family, the beach, reading, gardening, and going to the gym.
Sue can’t help but think of Bobbie whenever she hears the song “For Good” from Wicked. “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.”
