Here are their testimonials

Jaime attended the NCAEYC Conference in Raleigh: “Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to attend the conference. I really enjoyed my time and getting to know other childcare professionals that share the same passion and drive that I have. One of my goals is to be able to leave my work at work and let it go at the end of the day. There are so many students to take care of and when the challenging behaviors come up, it is hard to stop and breathe sometimes before you react. Conference sessions reminded me of why I do this job and what my role is for the children and their families. Presenters shared real life ideas and strategies that have worked before and might work for me as well. I also learned to find that “person” that you can connect with at the end of the day to decompress and leave everything at work with. At the end of the day, before you leave school, let it all go and start new tomorrow. Children do not come to school with a plan to make your life miserable or hard. So, let yesterday go and start each day fresh".

Penny attended the NCAEYC Conference in Raleigh: “I truly appreciate the opportunity your organization gave me to attend such an enriching conference. My professional goals this year are to facilitate students' learning by promoting a multisensory environment. Attending the Leading the Shift session at the conference, gave me ideas of implementing more intentional activities that provide explicit ways to teach literacy skills and merge them with four ways to play as demonstrated in the Play as a Spectrum session. Adding more activities that heighten learning
by using students' 5 senses as demonstrated in the Little Learner, Big Connections
session will allow students to make more connections and retain more information during their learning activities if their brain is fully involved during these learning experiences. I want to make sure that students are able to practice skills taught during lessons in meaningful hands-on ways by adding experiences that allow a student to engage in multisensory and multidisciplinary activities. Learning happens more frequently if all of their senses are being stimulated during activities".

Here are their testimonials
“My Professional Goal is to incorporate more literacy activities, and I got a lot of great ideas at the conference. Thank you! It was a great experience!” Danielle who attended the NCAEYC Conference in Raleigh.

“I learned about numerous ways to calm ourselves and brains so we can function fully and give the children what they need. I shared several ideas with my Director. My goal is to prevent burn-out. Taking care of me helps make sure I can see the whole picture/child.” Ashley who attended the NCIMHA Conference in Asheville.

“My Professional Goal is to expand my home program to a center. All sessions gave helpful tips and solutions for this journey, such as the PBS virtual classroom. Thank you for the opportunity to attend this event. It was a wonderful experience and a blessing to be able to gain additional knowledge needed to advance in this field”. Iesha who attended the NCAEYC Conference in Raleigh.

“I have a better understanding of the Appalachian culture and ways that I can slowly gain trust to support them in building healthy relationships with their young children. My current use of the parallel process with families is strong and I look forward to building it with administration so that they can use it more effectively with frontline staff.  I intend to share what I learned with teachers when children return to Head Start.” Katie who attended the NCIMHA Conference in Asheville.
